In 1975 he became German super heavyweight champion for Rot-Weiß Loerrach. In 1976 he joined TSV Reinbek , who competed in the Regionalliga Nord. On August 18, 1984 he set a European bench press record up to 125 kg for the TSV in Reinbek with 258.0 kg .

further activities

Roersch worked at times as a doorman for discos and brothel keeper. In 1975 he was fined for promoting prostitution.

Since 1985 he has felt politically “driven into the opposition”. According to his own statements, he read newspapers and contemporary history books over a period of five years. At an event with Ignatz Bubis , a member of the board of directors of the Central Council of Jews in Germany , Roersch appeared in a Till Eulenspiegel costume to accuse Bubis of his resistance to performances of the play Der Müll, die Stadt und der Tod . After Roersch had accused Bubis of censorship from within the audience and Bubis had reacted angrily, Roersch's microphone was turned off.

After a lecture by the physicist Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker , Roersch spoke to him about his and his wife's behavior under National Socialism . Roersch also intended to speak to Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker, whom he accused of not reporting on the murders of Jews in Germany when he was in Switzerland in 1942 , of having defended his father Ernst von Weizsäcker at the Nuremberg war crimes trials, and of 1962 to To have been involved in the production of the defoliant Agent Orange in 1966 at Boehringer Ingelheim . Around 1990 Roersch gave up this intention of a conversation again.

On December 2, 1993, Roersch waited in front of the Hamburg Thalia Theater for Richard von Weizsäcker, who was visiting the city and wanted to attend a performance of the play Minna von Barnhelm . Rörsch spoke to von Weizsäcker with “Have a word, Mr. President” and then slapped him in the face, whereupon von Weizsäcker fell to the ground and Rörsch was arrested by bodyguards. Weizsäcker was injured in the nose and lip and lost the immediate memory of the situation of the blow, but continued his visit to the theater.

In his interrogation by the police, Roersch said he wanted to provoke a criminal trial against himself with the act in order to be able to bring Richard von Weizsäcker's past up to speed. In court, however, he described the blow as a "reflex, controlled by my emotional world". Von Weizsäcker waived a lawsuit against Roersch for denigrating the Federal President . Roersch was sentenced to six months suspended prison sentence for willful assault . The prosecutor had asked for 10 months without parole and appealed against the judgment.

When Richard von Weizsäcker took part in the opening of the German Gymnastics Festival in Hamburg's main church Sankt Michaelis on May 15, 1994 , Roersch distributed leaflets in front of the building with the title “Mein Schlag gegen Weizsäkker” and was then temporarily arrested.

On October 2, 1994, Roersch insulted von Weizsäcker as a "Nazi" in the Hamburg theater . On April 27, 1995, Roersch distributed leaflets again in front of von Weizsäcker's Berlin official residence, Schloss Bellevue , where his 75th birthday was to be celebrated, and was arrested.

After the council of the community of Gollwitz (part of Brandenburg an der Havel since 2003 ) had rejected the accommodation of 50 to 60 Jewish emigrants from Russia in the Gollwitz manor planned by the district administration in 1997 and was criticized in public for this decision, Roersch left At the end of October , handing out leaflets signed with his name to households in the town of Netzen , which is adjacent to Gollwitz , in which he and others a. Bubis vilified and expressed himself xenophobia. Independently of Roersch, other right-wing extremists also had brochures distributed to Gollwitz households. Criminal charges were filed against Roersch and an investigation was initiated.
