Horst Jaedicke

Horst Jaedicke (born March 1, 1924 in Stuttgart ; † May 16, 2010 in Chiavari , Italy ) was a German editor , film producer and television director .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1941, Horst Jaedicke began studying art and theater studies at the University of Munich, which he soon had to interrupt because he was called up for military service. After the war he found a job as a director at a theater in Heidenheim . In 1947 he decided to resume his interrupted studies, but soon switched to journalism and gave up his studies without a degree. He was one of the earliest employees of Radio Stuttgart, which later became Süddeutscher Rundfunk (SDR). There he opened a place for correspondents for the first German news magazine Der Spiegel and from 1952 to 1954 was the first editor of the news program Tagesschau in Hamburg.

Later he moderated the national magazine Hessenschau on hr-fernsehen . He then returned to Süddeutscher Rundfunk and was its television director from 1959 . Horst Jaedicke also worked together with Bernd Eichinger as a film producer for Christiane F. - Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo and The Last Metro , which was directed by François Truffaut . From 1968 to 1975 he was part-time coordinator of ARD for television games. In December 1977 he was elected to the ARD commission for investment planning and rationalization . In 1984 he gave up his work as television director of the SDR for health reasons. From March 2001 he researched for his book Tatort Tagesschau at ARD-aktuell in Hamburg.
