Horst Robbers

Horst Robbers (born April 26, 1918 in Wilhelmshaven (?); † April 30, 2010 there ) was a German medical officer . In the marine medical service he was most recently an admiralty doctor .

Life

Robbers joined the Navy in 1937 as an officer candidate and served on minesweepers and clearing boats . In 1943 he took part in training at the Mürwik Naval School in Flensburg - Mürwik . In 1945 he was taken prisoner by the Soviets , from which he was released in August of the same year.

Then took Robbers study medicine at the August University of Göttingen Georg on which he in 1952 with the doctor's license to practice medicine and the promotion of Dr. med. completed. He took up his first position at the municipal clinics in Wilhelmshaven, where he was trained as a specialist in internal medicine .

In 1957 Robbers joined the Federal Navy, which was under construction, as a senior staff doctor and became a base doctor at the Heppenser Groden naval base . In 1958 he became a senior doctor at the Navy's volunteer acceptance center in Wilhelmshaven, where he played a key role in the development of qualifications for service in the Navy.

In 1962 Robbers became the chief medical officer at the North Sea naval section command and in 1967 the command doctor at the naval office . His last job as admiralty in the Navy was from 1972 to 1978. He was then put into retirement, which he spent in Wilhelmshaven. Robbers was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his services . He was married and had four sons.
