Horst W. Herke

Horst W. Herke (born December 2, 1931 in Mainz ) is a German industrial manager. From 1986 to 1989 he was CEO of Adam Opel AG .

education

After completing his school education, he completed a degree in economics in Mainz with a doctorate as a Dr. rer. pole.

In 1958 he joined Adam Opel AG in Rüsselsheim and one year later took over the management of the financial department. He spent two years on the finance team of the parent company General Motors in New York before becoming assistant to the CEO in Rüsselsheim in April 1976. From July 1, 1984, Herke was General Manager of General Motors Spain.

From February 1986 to March 1989 he was CEO of Adam Opel AG, successor to Louis R. Hughes .
