Ferdinand Beickler

Ferdinand Beickler (born November 2, 1922 in Mainz ; † September 24, 1998 in Königstein im Taunus ) was a German industrial manager and from 1982 to 1986 chairman of the board of Adam Opel AG .

In 1937 Beickler became an apprentice toolmaker at the Rüsselsheim parent plant. After studying mechanical engineering , doing military service and being a prisoner of war, he did not return to Opel until 1949 and headed the Bochum works from 1966 until he was appointed member of the board in 1970 and Opel boss in 1982. In Bochum, he worked as production manager for both the selection of the technical management staff as well as the launch of the new Opel Kadett A responsible. In 1964 he also took over responsibility for the other technical areas of the plant. From autumn 1966 to autumn 1970 he was the overall manager of the Opel works in Bochum.

Beickler became a member of the Board of Management on November 1, 1970. Here he took over the production department with responsibility for the relevant areas of the Opel plants in Rüsselsheim, Bochum, Kaiserslautern and Antwerp. In February 1982 he became CEO of Adam Opel AG.

After leaving Adam Opel AG in February 1986, he died in 1998.
