Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo

The Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein is a hospital in Morumbi west of the city of São Paulo . The hospital was founded in 1955 by members of the São Paulos Jewish community. In 1999, it was the first hospital outside the United States to be certified by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations . It has 439 beds and, according to its own information, employs more than 6,000 people.

In research, the Albert Einstein Hospital attracted international attention in May 2020 when it achieved a breakthrough in testing for the coronavirus.

The hospital consists of two main buildings with a total of four wings and an adjacent outdoor area. In wing D is the Max Eberhardt Hospital synagogue . The Brazilian restaurant chain Viena operates a restaurant in wing A.
