Hotel Diablo ( Spanish for " Hotel Teufel ") is the fourth studio album by the US rapper Machine Gun Kelly . It was released on July 5, 2019 on Bad Boy Entertainment and Interscope Records .

The album was produced by a variety of music producers , including BazeXX, SlimmXX, Alexander Lustig, Rory Andrew, Mark Foster and Machine Gun Kelly himself.

Cover design

The album cover shows a child's photo of Machine Gun Kelly, who is shown upside down and whose head is open. At the bottom right of the picture is the title Hotel Diablo in white and purple. The background is dark gray and consists of pieces of paper written with lyrics.

In addition to Machine Gun Kelly, other musicians are represented on six songs on the album. Hotel Diablo entered the German charts at number 75 for a week on July 12, 2019. The album was most successful in the United States, where it reached number 5 and stayed in the top 200 for 20 weeks.

On May 17, 2019, the song Hollywood Whore was released as the first single on the album, followed by the second release El Diablo on May 31. The third single, I Think I'm Okay , was released on June 7, 2019 and reached number 90 in the UK charts. On the day the album was released, the song Glass House was also released. Furthermore, a music video for the song 5: 3666 was released on October 16, 2019 .

Mirco Leier from laut.de rated Hotel Diablo with three out of a possible five points. It is “a very personal album,” but it doesn't necessarily “leave a really lasting impression.” The rapper works his life emotionally “between melancholy, aggression and depression”. All in all it delivers "a wild potpourri that neither hurts nor particularly convincing."
