Hubert Salentin
Hubert Salentin (born January 15, 1822 in Zülpich ; † July 7, 1910 in Düsseldorf ) was a German genre painter from the Düsseldorf School .
Life
Salentin was a blacksmith for 14 years and only came to the Düsseldorf Academy in 1850 , where Wilhelm von Schadow , Carl Ferdinand Sohn and Adolph Tidemand were his most important teachers. He liked to paint cozy genre scenes from rural life in West Germany, which are characterized by correct drawing and light coloring when handled fluently.
