The Hubertuskapelle in Arloff , a district of Bad Münstereifel in the Euskirchen district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ), is a Catholic chapel that was built in 1466. It is a protected cultural monument .

history

The Hubertus Chapel was built in 1466, as can be seen from the inscription on the lintel of the chapel. The builder was probably Reinhard Schrueder, who worked at the church in Roitzheim in 1477 . The service in Arloff was provided by Kirspenich . In 1955, frescoes from the time it was built were discovered and exposed during restoration work .

architecture

The simple quarry stone building with a small square choir is 14.60 m long and 5.50 m wide. The chapel is covered by slatted gable roofs. The west portal has a house border and the windows with stained glass were probably made in the 17th and 18th centuries. Above the gable is a square roof turret , which ends with a pointed eight-sided helmet .

A central pillar in the rectangular nave supports the flat ceiling. A triumphal arch leads to the choir, which is covered with a cross vault.
