Hugh Skinner
Hugh Skinner (born January 6, 1985 in London ) is a British actor .
Life
Skinner grew up in London , Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne . From 1998 to 2003 he attended Eastbourne College, where he was a choirboy . At the age of 18 he came to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art , where he studied for three years.
Skinner is openly gay .
Career
Skinner's first paid theater role was in 2007 French Without Tears with the English Touring Theater. His first television roles followed in two BBC series, in 2008 in an adaptation of the novel Tess by the d'Urbervilles and in 2010 in Any Human Heart . He was first seen in a film in 2012 in Les Misérables .
In 2013 he played in the musical adaptation of American Psycho at London's Almeida Theater , on whose album release he was featured in 2016, and began filming in a series lead role for W1A , which appeared from 2014 to 2017.
Since 2016, Skinner has played leading roles in the comedy series The Windsors as a parodic version of Prince William and Fleabag as the protagonist's ex-boyfriend, played by series creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge , the second season of which followed in 2019. In 2016 he also appeared in the second season of Poldark and in 2017 in the first season of Harlots .
In 2018, Skinner embodied in the musical sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again a younger version of Harry by Colin Firth . In the film he sings with Lily James as the young Donna Waterloo and also has a small part in Why Did it Have to be Me , with which he is also featured on the soundtrack album.
