Hugo Fasel (born October 4, 1955 in Alterswil , resident in St. Antoni ) is a Swiss politician ( CSP ).

Hugo Fasel studied economics at the University of Freiburg and then worked there as an assistant. In 1986 he became Central Secretary of the Christian National Trade Union Confederation of Switzerland (CNG). From November 25, 1991 to the end of October 2008, the Freiburg resident sat in the National Council , where he was a member of the business audit commission and the commission for social security and health. Since he was the only CSP national councilor, he joined the parliament of the Greens parliamentary group of the federal assembly in 1995 . In addition to his work as a national councilor, Hugo Fasel was president of the Travail.Suisse union and lecturer at various universities of applied sciences. Since October 2008 he has been the director of Caritas Switzerland .

His successor in the National Council was the Freiburg CSP politician Marie-Thérèse Weber-Gobet .

Fasel is married and has two children. He was a soldier in the Swiss Army .
