Hugo Haerdtl
Hugo Haerdtl (born November 23, 1846 in Hof in Krain, † February 16, 1918 in Vienna ) was an Austrian sculptor .
Life
Hugo Haerdtl was born in Carniola and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Franz Melnitzky , with whom he also worked. After his death in 1876 Haerdtl worked independently. He was buried at the Vienna Central Cemetery .

Haerdtl was particularly involved in furnishing numerous historical Ringstrasse buildings in Vienna, where he created free-standing sculptures, reliefs, decorations and fountains, including:
- Zwickelfiguren, the six days of creation , central projection (Bellariastraße) of the Natural History Museum
- Xenophon , seated figure on the ramp of the parliament building
- Allegory of Justice , gable relief on the parliament building
- Patriotic love , group of gables in the peristyle of the parliament building
- Allegory of rivers , Pallas Athene fountain in front of the parliament building
- Triton and Naiad Fountain , Maria-Theresien-Platz (1887–1890)
- Interior , Schottenkirche
- Galenos , statue in the staircase of the Anatomical Institute, Vienna 9
