Hugo Schroeder (politician)

Hugo Schroeder (born April 10, 1829 in Insterburg , † September 25, 1899 in Eisenach ) was a German lawyer and member of the Reichstag .

Live and act

After graduation in Berlin studied Schroeder at the universities of Breslau and Berlin Jura . After the legal traineeship exam in 1850 and the assessor exam in 1854, he worked for two years at the railway directorate of the Eastern Railway in Bromberg and at the appellate court in Stettin , before he was prosecutor in Suhl and Wittenberg from 1856 to 1862 . From 1862 to 1877 he was for the German Progressive Party in the Prussian House of Representativeselected. There he rejected the increasing Prussian military spending, when this led to professional problems, he quit civil service and worked as a journalist for the National-Zeitung . Back in civil service in 1875, he became a city judge and in 1877 a chamber judge in Berlin. Then he moved there around 1880 to the administrative court, where he was awarded the title of a secret judiciary. From 1880 to 1896 he was chairman of the Protestant Association and a member of many church committees.

In the years 1874 to 1877, 1881 to 1884 and 1890 to 1898 he was a member of the German Reichstag as a member of the National Liberal Party , Liberal Association and the Liberal Association .
