Hugo Stöhr (* 1830 in Würzburg , † 1901 in Bad Kissingen ) was a German gynecologist and spa doctor.

Life

Stöhr studied at the universities in Würzburg , Vienna and Paris . He was employed as an assistant doctor during the cholera epidemic in Augsburg . In 1856 he passed the state examination and then became personal physician to Prince Adolf von Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg (1805–1861; reign 1855–1861).

From 1862 he worked as a doctor in Bad Kissingen, in 1876 he became the Grand Ducal Oldenburg Councilor , 1883 Mecklenburg-Schwerin Privy Councilor and 1895 Royal Bavarian Councilor. He was the holder of many medals and awards.

Stöhr took part in the German War of 1866 and the Franco-German War of 1870/1871. He supported the Red Cross and the medical column, where he became an honorary member.

Artistically he was active in the management of "theatrical performances" of the amateur association (amateur play group). He also tried his hand at writing.
