Hujässler is a Swiss folk music group of new folk music .
history
The front men Dani Häusler (clarinet) and Markus Flückiger (Schwyzerörgeli) already played together in the group pareglish (founded in 1996), which mainly dealt with folk music outside the Alpine region. Reto Kamer (piano) and Sepp Huber (double bass), who were already formed with Markus Flückiger in the trio of the same name, joined them. In 1998, at the Hotel Alpenland in Lauenen ( Canton of Bern ) , they played together Länders standards and traditional Länders pieces by different composers for the first time. Soon my own compositions were added. Initially kept melodiously traditional, these differed harmonically and rhythmically from the previous Länders' dances, with which they coined the term New Folk Music in Switzerland.
Dani Häusler and Markus Flückiger were honored with the Central Switzerland Culture Prize in 2011 .
