Phonoplay AG is a Swiss record company . The company was founded in 1976 in the Würzenbach district of Lucerne and has been based in Adligenswil since 2001 . The company includes the music label Phonoplay International , PMP (Phonoplay MusicProductions) and the Phonoplay recording studio.

As part of the 40th anniversary of Phonoplay, Joël Gilgen reported on the SRF 1 radio show Volksmusik aktuell on September 10, 2016 and called it “today probably the largest and best-known folk music label in Switzerland”.

Walter Fölmli (* 1968) has been the owner since 1999. After completing his school education at Phonoplay, he did a commercial apprenticeship as well as an apprenticeship as a sound engineer and acquired the company in 1999 from the founder Josef «Joe» Käslin (* 1933).

The company states that "over 1,000" recordings have been made since it was founded. In the archive there are “more than 20,000” tracks set to music.
