Fourth month of the Achet period

Hut-heru ( month of Hathor ) denoted the time of flooding and the fourth month of the Achet period in the Egyptian calendar . From the predynastic period to the end of the Middle Kingdom , Hut-heru, originally the fourth month of the Sothis calendar, represented the period from mid-September to mid-October .

Alan Gardiner as well as Richard-Anthony Parker suspect that Hut-heru changed the year form in the course of calendar history, which is why Hut-heru was postponed to the third month at the latest from the New Kingdom .

In the Ebers calendar around 1517 BC In BC Hut-heru was on the second month of Achet and dated from September 17 to October 16 ( Elephantine ) and from September 22 to October 21 ( Memphis ).

The name of the fourth month of Achet later changed to Choiak .
