Hypericum thuyoides is a shrub that reaches a height of between 1 and 3 meters. The trunk is erect and branches out diffusely. The long with a 0.8 mm pseudo-petiole attached leaves are diffuse and are approximately at right angles from. The ovate to elliptical leaf blade is about 2.4 to 3.2 millimeters long and 1.6 to 3.6 millimeters wide. In the connecting plane to the flowers, the leaf blade is folded lengthways. At the base of the sheet, the otherwise wavy edges form an angle between 45 ° and 90 °. The edges are also slightly dry and partially translucent through a membrane. Occurrence

Hypericum thuyoides is native to Colombia . It is endemic to the Páramo in the Bogotá area at altitudes between 2500 and 3600 meters. There this species grows in bushes.
