The Ulricehamns IFK is a Swedish sports club in Ulricehamn . The soccer team of the previous club IFK Ulricehamn played one season in the second highest Swedish league in the 1970s .
history
For a long time, the previous clubs IFK Ulricehamn and Ulricehamn IF only played in the lower class of the Swedish football league pyramid. In 1964 Ulricehamn IF rose to the third division for the first time, the local rival followed a season later. While IFK Ulricehamn was able to establish itself in its third division season, Ulricehamn IF rose again after two seasons and from then on played again only in a lower class.
IFK Ulricehamn already settled in the top third of the table towards the end of the 1960s. After second places in the table in 1968 and 1970 behind Kinna IF and Varberg's BoIS , the team won the season in 1971. In the promotion round to the second division she met BK Derby and Tidaholms GIF and after two defeats missed the qualification for the higher division. After the team narrowly escaped relegation to the fourth division in the following year, they established themselves again in the front division and won the season again in 1975. After a win and a draw, however, they missed the promotion again, behind Västerås SK and Motala AIF they finished third in the promotion round in front of Stockholm club Högalids IF . This time the club repeated the success of the previous year and came back in 1976 in the promotion round. Västra Frölunda IF and IFK Ystad were relegated to the places and together with Mjällby AIF the club rose to the second division.
In the southern season of the second division IFK Ulricehamn had no chance and after six wins of the season, together with Råå IF and Grimsås IF, relegated straight back. In its third division season, the club reached midfield positions in the following years without being able to intervene again in the promotion race. Rather, he slipped in the league and after only three wins this season he said goodbye to fourth division at the end of 1982. Four years later, the team was the victim of a league reform and was downgraded to the fifth highest division. In 1990, the club returned to the fourth division and finished second in the following year in its season, but rose again the following year.
At the end of 1992, IFK Ulricehamn and Ulricehamn IF merged to form Ulricehamns IFK . The new club switched between fourth and fifth division in the following years. In 2007 he was relegated to the sixth class, two years later he was promoted again.
