I Heart Sharks was a German-British band of electronic pop music from Berlin .
history
The band members, who come from New York City , London and Bavaria , met in their adopted home Berlin and founded the band I Heart Sharks there in 2007 . The first EP Wolves was released in July 2010 by the Laserlaser label and distributed by Rough Trade . In the same year the band performed at the Immergut Festival . In 2011 I Heart Sharks first released the single Neuzeit on AdP Records . The album Summer followed on October 28th , which was recorded by the band on their own and partly financed by fans. In January 2018, the band announced their breakup after a farewell tour. The last concert took place on September 15, 2018 in Berlin.
style
I Heart Sharks make electronic music known as electropop or indietronic that is suitable for dancing. The texts are mostly in English , only the song Neuzeit is also sung in German with a strong accent. The style of I Heart Sharks is often compared to that of the band Friendly Fires .
