Ian Mercer

Ian Mercer (born 1962 in Oldham , England ) is a British actor .

life and career

Ian Mercer was trained as an electrician after school before he decided to become an actor. He made his first film appearance in 1982 in the film Blue Money . At the same time, he is also repeatedly active as a theater actor, especially in plays by William Shakespeare . He has played regularly in British film and television productions since the 1980s. Among them are leading roles, such as in the series Brookside or Coronation Street . Again and again he has occasional appearances in the soap opera Doctors, also in various roles. In 2011, he played the role of Quartermaster, a zombie pirate with fortune telling skills, in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides , alongside Johnny Depp , Penélope Cruz and Ian McShane . His other films include u. a. Master & Commander - To the end of the world and Lassie returns .

In 2007 he graduated from Northumbria University with degrees in English and Art History. Mercer lives in Northumbria with his wife and two daughters .
