Ian Morris (athlete)

Ian Morris (born November 30, 1961 in Siparia , Trinidad ) is a former sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago , whose special route was the 400-meter run .

In 1987 he was fourth at the World Indoor Championships in Indianapolis , but retired from the World Championships in Rome in the prerun both over 200 m and over 400 m. The following year he was seventh at the Olympic Games in Seoul . At the 1989 World Indoor Championships in Budapest, he won silver, and in 1991 he was sixth at the Tokyo World Championships . At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he was fourth in the individual competition and seventh with the Trinidadian relay in the 4-by-400-meter relay. Also in the 4 x 400 meter relay, he won silver with the team from Trinidad and Tobago at the 1993 World Indoor Championships in Toronto.

He also won silver at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1986, bronze at the Central American and Caribbean Championships in 1987 and silver at the Pan American Games in 1991 . In the 4 x 400 meter relay, he won bronze with the team from Trinidad and Tobago at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria and at the 1995 Pan American Games in Mar del Plata.

He was national champion over 400 m seven times (1986-1989, 1991, 1993, 1996) and once over 200 m (1986).
