Iberg is an outside guard and a district of the city of Winterthur and belongs to District 3 ( lakes ).

history

A double settlement Iberg with two cell systems was first recorded on July 28, 1264. At that time, Hartmann the Elder of Kyburg had bequeathed the upper court to the canons of Heiligenberg , while the lower court remained in the possession of the Kyburg family.

traffic

Iberg is served by the Stadtbus Winterthur line 9 , which connects Iberg (“Klösterli Iberg” bus station on the north-western edge of the Aussenwacht) and other surrounding Aussenwachts with the Winterthur-Seen train station . In the evening the line is operated as an on-call bus.

Until 2008, Iberg and the other outside guards were still connected directly to Winterthur main station with the Postbus line 681 .

education

There are two primary school buildings in Iberg: the village school building in the center, which houses the kindergarten and a middle school class, and the primary school building Iberg Pavillon, which houses three lower school classes.

For the upper level, the pupils have to go to Oberseen secondary school.

Sports

From 1959 to 1974 a motocross race was held on the Iberghang by RV Winterthur .
