history

The station is on the Tösstallinie from Winterthur-Grüze to Bauma and was opened with her on May 4, 1875. The route was extended to Wald a year later . The two-story standardized station building that was built at the time is still standing today. From 1882, the operating railway company also had its own track to Winterthur station . On June 10, 1918, the station along with the line was nationalized and became the property of the SBB . Since then, the SBB has been operating the line that stretches from Winterthur train station to Rüti .

In the course of the electrification of the Tösstallinie, the station building was slightly expanded in 1951 with a small concrete canopy. In the 1960s, an extension was built with space for toilets, service rooms and a kiosk. A comprehensive renovation followed in the early 1990s and the station was given elevated platforms and an underpass. However, a multi-storey train station building that was also planned was not implemented.

The station sold to national to its closure in June 2019 and international tickets, subscriptions and leisure activities. Event tickets from Ticketcorner were also sold in the station . The SBB also offered the possibility to transfer money with Western Union and money exchange was also possible at the counter. The station also offered the lost property service.
