Idrottsmärke

The Riksidrottsförbundets idrottsmärke , or Idrottsmärke for short, is a Swedish sports badge that was created in 1907 .

history

Emil Löfvenius from the board of directors of the Swedish National Association for Physical Exercise ( Riksidrottsförbundets ) founded an Idrotts-Märke in 1907 as a badge for athletic achievements. At first only men could acquire the Swedish sports badge; Women since 1916, male youth since 1919 and female youth since 1923.

The Idrottsmärke is awarded in bronze , silver and gold . The first time you are awarded the bronze level; Silver at the fourth award and gold from the eighth award or when completing the services over 32 years of age.

The sports functionary Carl Diem got to know the Idrottsmärke at the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 and used it as a template for the award for various achievements in the field of physical exercise - the predecessor of today's German sports badge .

Disciplines

The Swedish sports badge has been revised several times during its existence. The requirements in 1910 were as follows:

1 200 m swimming , gymnastics
2 High jump , long jump
3 100/400/1500 m run
4th Fencing , javelin , discus , shot put
5 u. a. 10 km running, 1000 m swimming, 20 km cycling , participation in the finals in a district soccer tournament
