Ignacio Alberto Cuba

Ignacio Alberto Cuba ( Ignacio Alberto Cuba Carrero; born July 31, 1962 in Santa Clara ) is a former Cuban long-distance runner .

In 1989 he won silver over 10,000 m at the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships .

In 1991 he became the Cuban marathon champion , came 48th in the IAAF World Cup marathon held as part of the London Marathon , won the Pan American Games in Havana and finished 30th in the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo .

The following year he won the Maratón de la Comarca Lagunera . In the marathon of the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 he did not finish and at the end of the year he won the Mérida marathon .

In 1993 he won silver in 1:03:10 h in the half marathon of the Athletics Central America and Caribbean Championships on a presumably too short distance , came 39th in the marathon of the World Championships in Stuttgart and was fourth in the marathon of the Central American and Caribbean Games .

In 1995 he was fifth in the marathon of the Pan American Games in Mar del Plata , again won silver in the half marathon of the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships and won the Caracas Marathon . In 1997 he won the Madrid marathon .

In the marabana , he won twice the marathon (1994, 2001) and six times the half marathon competition (1988-1992, 1996).
