Ilir Azemi (born February 21, 1992 in Pristina , Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ) is a Kosovar football player . He is under contract with FSV Wacker Nordhausen .
Career
Azemi was born in Yugoslavia and came to Germany at the age of three . From 2007 he was trained at the sports boarding school of SpVgg Greuther Fürth and went through the youth teams there. In the 2011/12 season he scored a total of 15 goals for the Fürth U-23 in the Regionalliga Süd and was allowed to train with the then second-rate professionals because of his performance. On August 25, 2012 he made his Bundesliga debut for the Fürth professionals against FC Bayern Munich . He scored his first goal on May 4, 2013 in the away game against VfB Stuttgart , when he scored the goal to make it 2-0. On March 25, 2014, he scored his first brace in a 4-1 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf . Azemi's career was interrupted for a year and a half by a car accident. It was not until January 2016 that he took part in a reserve test match again.
In January 2017, he was loaned to the third division Holstein Kiel until the end of the season. In May 2017, Azemi was firmly committed and given a contract until June 30, 2018.
After only 9 missions without a hit for the “Storks”, the striker signed the regional league team FSV Wacker Nordhausen on January 18th .
National team
In October 2012 Azemi was appointed to U-21 internationals for the selection of Albania . On March 5, 2014, he was part of the Kosovar selection that played the first unofficial international match against a FIFA member against Haiti .
Personal
On August 7, 2014, Azemi had a serious accident with his car in Nuremberg on Fürther Strasse. In addition to several bone and back fractures, he contracted a lung contusion. As a result of a weak dorsiflexion foot, Azemi was unable to participate in competitive sports for a long time.
