The Ilka was a sea rescue boat (SRB) of the 7-meter class of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked People (DGzRS). The boat was built in 1971 by the Schweers shipyard in Bardenfleth under construction number 6420. The internal name was KRST 22.
Naming
Ilka is a Frisian woman's name; the baptismal name expresses the attachment of the DGzRS to the German coast.
The second name Mövenort - the boat was renamed in July 1993 - describes a landscape in the north of the island of Rügen .
Technical Equipment
The lifeboat was equipped with radio systems, echo sounder , GPS , external bilge pump and a rescue port.
Like all "real" boats of the 7 m class, the boat had no radar device (further explanation: Kaatje sea rescue boat ).
Stationings
From July 7, 1972, the Ilka was stationed in Büsum . On May 4, 1985 the transfer to the island of Juist took place . Another change of stationing took place - with the renaming of the boat to the name Mövenort - in July 1993 to Freest . The boat stayed there until it was decommissioned on April 20, 1994.
In June 1994 the boat was handed over to the Lithuanian sea rescue service by the DGzRS .
