Illute (actually: Ute Kneisel , * 1979 in Hamm ) is a German singer and songwriter .

After studying illustration in Münster, she moved to Berlin , where she has been working as an illustrator and graphic designer ever since. From 2007 she gave her first small concerts in the singer-songwriter scene. She was one of the first artists in the Berlin TV Noir format . That year she won the young talent competition of the Chansonfest Berlin in the BKA-Theater . In 2008 the Viennese producer Alexander Nefzger ( Clara Luzia , Mika Vember , Kommando Elefant ) became aware of her, who always makes her debut album different than you think! produced and published on the Viennese label LasVegas Records and the Leipzig label analogsoul . Several tours followed, mainly in Germany and Austria.

She sets illute mostly German-language pieces to music herself on piano, guitar or percussion. She also sings in Spanish, Swedish, Japanese or English and sporadically publishes recordings in smaller editions.
