Mika Vember (* 2. May 1979 as Michaela Koglbauer in Neunkirchen (Lower Austria) ) is in Vienna resident and acting singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
Career
Mika Vember made her first musical attempts - at that time still under her real name Michaela Koglbauer - while she was at school as a singer and guitarist in a local rock band. During her studies (literature and communication studies) she was inspired by the German media scientist Bernward Wember for her stage name - and developed her own musical style, in which music critics recognize similarities with Chrissie Hynde , Tom Waits , Ani DiFranco and Jolie Holland . Mika Vember writes her songs, which are consistently English-speaking and variedly arranged, in the tradition of Anglo-American singer-songwriters .
From 2006 to 2008 Mika Vember was a singer and percussionist in the indie pop group Clara Luzia .
In 2007 she formed her own band. In the same year she released her first CD Now or Now , produced by Alexander Nefzger and Börn .
In 2008 Mika Vember completed her literature studies (focus: Anglo-American literature) at the University of Vienna .
As a percussionist and singer, Mika Vember is again involved in musical projects Börn (Bernhard Moshammer).
In June 2009 she released the CD Fame & Success with Börn .
In October 2010 her second CD Our Lady Of The Loops was released , which she produced together with Alexander Nefzger.
