In the Land of My Children is a German-Swiss documentary by Dario Aguirre from 2018 about life abroad and reconciliation with one's own past.

Dario originally comes to Germany from Ecuador because of Stephanie. In the following 15 years he submitted a total of 10 visa applications for his further stay in Germany. Finally, the then Mayor of Hamburg , Olaf Scholz, invited him to take on German citizenship .
