Imperial is a strategy game by Walther "Mac" Gerdts for 2 to 6 players, published in 2006 by PD-Verlag in cooperation with eggertspiele . The illustrations are by Matthias Catrein .

description

Each player takes on the role of an investor who tries to determine their policies at the beginning of the 20th century by lending to the 6 great powers Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Austria and Russia. The player who grants the highest loan amount to a country decides whether the country invests in armaments factories and their production, moves its ships and cannons to other countries and spheres of power, collects taxes or repays the interest on the loans that the players then use issue new loans. With every tax collection the countries advance on a scoring track, if a country reaches the maximum value of 25 points the game ends and the interest amount on the loans is multiplied by a factor on the scoring track. Whoever achieves the highest value together with the remaining cash has won the game. Taxes are levied on factories and occupied lands and seas.

Which action the individual state carries out is decided by the position of its piece on the roundel, which is divided into different sections. Each token can be moved by 3 sections free of charge, each additional section must be paid to the bank with 2 million. This element was adapted from the game Antike von Mac Gerdts, which was published in 2005 by the same publisher, and is also used in the game Hamburgum .
