Ina Loitzl

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ina Loitzl (born May 14, 1972 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ) is an Austrian video and textile artist.

Life

Ina Loitzl studied graphics and visual media at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Ina Loitzl lives and works in Vienna . She is best known as an artist who combines textile works with video art. One critic called her turbo woman in childbed and thus alluded to a frequently recurring theme in Loitzl's work - the female body.

In 2004 she appeared on the cover of the Kleine Zeitung as the Morgenstern .

The short film Kunstboxen (5:40 min) was released in 2014.

The fascination for the human body, her own feminine, is the focus of her artistic work. Her related multimedia oeuvre includes objects, silhouettes, collages and animated films. The power and the miracle of life, the simultaneous disgust for open flesh, the tightrope walk between pleasure and pain, blooming and transience are very close to one another in their ambivalence.
