The Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK SBH) is the IHK for the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg region . It is based in Villingen-Schwenningen . The district of the IHK SBH includes the districts of Rottweil , Tuttlingen and the Schwarzwald-Baar district , which together form the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg region. history

The history of the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry goes back to the Rottweil Chamber of Commerce and Industry founded in 1867 and the Black Forest Chamber of Commerce for the Villingen district and the Neustadt district, founded in 1896 .

In 1973, as part of the administrative reform by ordinance of the Baden-Württemberg state government, the IHK SBH was formed. The IHK was based in Rottweil until the end of 1975 and was relocated to Villingen-Schwenningen in 1976; a main office was set up in Rottweil. In 1981 the IHK moved into the current building in Romäusring in Villingen-Schwenningen.

In 2017, the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry celebrates its 150th anniversary.

Essential activities

In fulfillment of the statutory mandate (Section 1 of the IHK Act ), the work of the IHK is based on three pillars:

The IHK ensures the quality of the dual training system . It checks the training companies , recognizes new training companies, supervises the training in the company and takes the intermediate and final exams. Every year in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg region, more than 2,400 school leavers begin an apprenticeship in a recognized occupation . There are around 7,000 training positions at member companies in the IHK district.

The IHK has also initiated the school-business cooperation .

As part of its commitment to further education, the IHK operates the IHK Academy Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg and, together with the Chamber of Crafts in Konstanz, the Vocational Training Center Tuttlingen GmbH (BBT for short) as an independent company.

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce advises start-ups and supports companies in matters of succession planning , financing or funding .

Research funding

Today's Institute for Micro- and Information Technology of the Hahn-Schickard-Gesellschaft (HSG-IMIT) emerged from an initiative of the IHK SBH. In 2005, on the initiative of the IHK Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg, the regional technology initiative TechnologyMountains e. The plenary assembly is the highest body of the IHK. It includes up to 52 voluntary entrepreneurs from all areas of the economy. It is re-elected every five years by the regional companies and determines the guidelines of the IHK work. The Presidium consists of the President and six Vice-Presidents, who are elected by the General Assembly from among their number in a secret ballot.

The General Manager is responsible to the General Assembly and the Presidium for the proper management of the company. He is entitled to take part in all meetings of the General Assembly, the Presidium, the committees and the working groups. The managing director and president represent the Chamber of Industry and Commerce on an equal footing.

The IHK Akademie Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg in Villingen-Schwenningen is the state-recognized and certified public further education institution of the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK SBH). history

The IHK Akademie Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg emerged at the beginning of 2011 from the professional examination and further training area of ​​the IHK Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg. The IHK has been offering professional training for companies in the IHK region and their employees since 1979. The courses usually took place in the evening and on weekends.

Since 2005, the IHK has been pursuing the market-oriented expansion of the educational offer in order to face free competition and to serve the demand from the 35,000 companies in the IHK region. In the course of this modernization, the conversion to the IHK Academy took place in 2010 and 2011.

In 2010 the Chamber of Commerce and Industry established a central training building with 25 classrooms and 2000 m² of operating space in the Villingen-Schwenningen Technology Park. There, the IHK Academy today offers a full-day, public course program in six subject areas, full-time courses and courses. It thus covers the spectrum from industrial-technical and commercial vocational training to a bachelor's degree and in-service training.

The training facility introduced a quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001 in 2010 and is certified accordingly. The IHK Akademie Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg has 7,500 course participants and graduates annually (as of 2016) and is one of the three largest further education institutions in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg region. It employs 278 mostly part-time lecturers and offers a total of 583 different courses, seminars and lectures each year at eight different locations in the IHK region. The head of the academy is Annett Auer-Thoß (as of 2020), who is also head of the vocational training and further education division of the IHK in Villingen-Schwenningen.

The IHK Academy fulfills some of the sovereign tasks of the IHK and oversees the regional final exams in the industrial-technical and commercial training professions. The tasks of the IHK Academy are implemented with the help of a course, seminar, lecture and examination program. The adaptation training takes into account ongoing developments. Seminars and training courses of varying duration take place here, which update knowledge of markets, technologies, methods and professional or legal framework conditions. The seminars end without an exam. The participants receive a confirmation of participation.

The higher vocational training prepares for high-quality commercial and technical activities and management tasks in companies. It consists of several months of courses with final exams in accordance with the standardized training and examination guidelines of the IHK organization, for which certificates are issued. The participants obtain the qualification of Certified Specialist or Certified Accountant or Certified Industrial Foreman specializing in metal.

Certificate courses form another category. They usually comprise 120 to 160 teaching units and conclude with a special examination and certification.

The IHK Academy develops and organizes internal training courses and qualification measures for the special needs of companies.

Departments

In the standard program, the IHK Academy covers six specialist areas: commercial knowledge, technology, information technology, health, gastronomy and languages.

The commercial area includes business administration, accounting, purchasing, corporate management, personnel management, law and taxes, marketing. The technical area includes metal, plastics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, logistics, medical technology, quality management and related fields. Information technology encompasses the entire basic training on the PC and extends to programming and network administration.

The IHK Academy trains health managers and demographic consultants to promote the health and social benefits of the workforce. For the catering industry , further training courses are offered in the areas of hotel management, marketing , kitchen and hygiene . Bachelor degree

As the first IHK further education institution in Germany, the IHK Akademie Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg developed a dual business administration course in 2010. It combines the further education path of the IHK with a degree at the Hochschule Furtwangen University (HFU). This enables business administrators and business administrators from industry to obtain the internationally recognized bachelor's degree on an extra-occupational educational path even without a high school diploma .

The prerequisite for admission is a successfully completed further education to become a certified specialist IHK, for which two semesters are estimated.
