Ulrich Finsterwalder Civil Engineering Award
The Ulrich Finsterwalder Civil Engineering Award has been awarded every two years since 1988 by the Ernst & Sohn publishing house for outstanding achievements in structural engineering . In 2014 the civil engineering award was renamed to Ulrich Finsterwalder civil engineering award after the engineer Ulrich Finsterwalder .
Modalities
The prize is intended to honor the work of civil engineers and their striving for excellent structures and innovative detailed solutions. The jury evaluates the entire construction project according to functional, technical, economic and design aspects. Buildings from all over the world are permitted, but the engineering work must have been performed within Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Eligible are people who were responsible for the design and / or execution.

Award winners
On November 16, 2012 , the jury, chaired by Manfred Curbach , Technische Universität Dresden, selected the Narodowy stadium in Warsaw as the winner from among 37 submitted objects with locations in 13 countries (engineers: Schlaich Bergermann und Partner (D) / architects: gmp Architekten von Gerkan, Marg and Partner (D) / JSK Architekci sp. Z oo (PL) / client: Narodowe Centrum Sportu Sp. Z oo (PL)).

The award ceremony took place on January 25, 2013 in the Magnus House of the German Physical Society in Berlin.
