Inger Hagerup
Inger Johanne Hagerup (born April 12, 1905 in Bergen ; † February 6, 1985 in Fredrikstad ) was a Norwegian poet and writer . She made her debut in 1939 and wrote on Riksmål .
Born Inger Johanne Halsør, she graduated from high school in Volda and went to business school in Oslo . In 1931 she married the teacher Anders Hagerup and took his last name, with whom she became known. Both initially lived in the Norwegian province of Sogn og Fjordane . With the beginning of the Second World War , however, they then fled to Stockholm . She was a staunch atheist and communist all her life .
Inger Hagerup made his debut in 1939 with »Jeg gikk meg vil i skogene«. Other collections followed, which were sold in large numbers. In addition to her poems, she has also published a number of plays and children's books. The songwriter Finn Kalvik set many of her poems to music in the 1970s. In 1976 the complete edition "Samlede dikt" was published.
She translated the English novel Lord of the Flies ( Lord of the Flies ) into Norwegian.
She spent the later years with her husband in Fredrikstad . Her two sons Klaus Hagerup and Helge Hagerup were also writers.
