Ingmar Streese

Ingmar Streese (born April 29, 1964 in Bremen ) is a German political official . Since December 11, 2018, Streese has been State Secretary for Transport in the Senate Department for the Environment, Transport and Climate Protection of the State of Berlin .

Life

Ingmar Streese graduated from high school in Schwanewede, Lower Saxony, in 1983 . He completed the subsequent professional training as a gardener in Bad Zwischenahn in 1985. From 1987 to 1992 he completed a biology degree at the University of Oldenburg and graduated with a diploma .

From 1993 to 1995, Streese was head of the European office of the Euronatur Foundation in Brussels. From 1995 to 1998 he was a speaker at Michaele Hustedt ( Member of the Bundestag , Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) in Bonn. In 1998, Streese became the representative of the State of Schleswig-Holstein in Federal Council committees for environmental and forestry matters and remained so until he took over the management of the office of then Minister Klaus Müller in the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry for the Environment, Nature and Forests in 2000 . In 2003 he moved to the Federal Ministry for Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture as Head of Division under the then Federal Minister Renate Künast , and stayed until 2006. Between 2006 and 2008, Streese was Counselor for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection at the German Embassy in London (United Kingdom) and the Embassy in Dublin (Ireland).

From 2008 to 2013, Streese held leading positions in Brussels at the food company Mars , u. a. as director for global sustainability programs . From 2013 to 2014 he was head of division at the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. From 2014 to 2018 he was head of the consumer policy division and a member of the management team at the Federation of German Consumer Organizations (vzbv).

On December 11, 2018, he was appointed State Secretary for Transport in the Berlin Senate Department for the Environment, Transport and Climate Protection. In this function he is the successor to Jens-Holger Kirchner , whom Senator Regine Günther has put into temporary retirement due to his illness .

Streese is married. He is a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and WWF Germany .
