Institute for socio-ecological economic research

The Institute for Social-Ecological Economic Research eV ( ISW ) in Munich is a politically active association with an economic focus, which, according to its own description, "offers analyzes, arguments and facts for the scientific and social debate as an alternative to the neoliberal mainstream".

The aim of the association, which was founded in June 1990, is the development of didactic material for use in schools and further education institutions. Annual isw forums are intended to enable scientists to exchange experiences with one another and with other interest groups. The association is financed by private sponsors.

The topics addressed by the isf include issues of globalization , the role of multinational companies and transnational institutions, income and wealth distribution , peace research , the energy industry and social systems . The relevant material is published, among other things, in the quarterly isw report and the monthly isw research booklets . Isw has a one-hour broadcast on LORA Munich every two months .

The chairman of the association is the former editor-in-chief of the DKP newspaper Our Time , Conrad Schuhler . Frank Deppe , Margret Mönig-Raane , Norman Paech , Klaus Pickshaus , Tobias Pflüger and Jörg Huffschmid belonged to the advisory board .
