Klaus Pickshaus (born January 14, 1949 in Velbert ) is a German political scientist , journalist and non-fiction author .

Life

Klaus Pickshaus studied political science and history at the Philipps University of Marburg . Until the mid-1980s, he worked as an employee of the Institute for Marxist Studies and Research (IMSF), specializing in the analysis of social movements and trade union theory. From 1989 on he was editor of the ecological specialist information service Arbeit & Ökologie-Briefe in Frankfurt am Main , which was founded by Jürgen Rüsselel , and then worked on the main board of IG Medien . Since 2000 he has been head of the occupational health and safety department. From 2010 to July 2014 Pickshaus headed the functional area of work design and qualification policy of the IG Metall industrial union in Frankfurt am Main. Since 2014 he has been a member of the advisory board of Z. Zeitschrift Marxistische Erneuerung .
