Ipomoea tiliacea is a species of the genus of Morningglory ( Ipomoea ) from the family of wind plants (Convolvulaceae). The species is common in America and the West Indies .

Ipomoea tiliacea is an herbaceous climber that is hairless or sparsely hairy. The leaves are long stalked , the leaf blade is heart-shaped-egg-shaped or rounded heart-shaped, entire or three-lobed 5 to 8 cm long, pointed towards the front.

The inflorescences are little to more flowering cymes , the inflorescence stalks are as long as or significantly longer than the leaf stalks. The flower stalks are usually short. The sepals are almost leathery, elongated to ovate, prickly or awned and of unequal length, the longer ones being about 8 mm long. The crown is hairless, violet, pink or rarely white, usually with a darker throat and 3 to 5 cm long.

The fruits are almost spherical, two-chambered, 8 to 10 mm diameter capsules , the seeds are hairless.

The species is distributed in southern Florida , from Mexico via Guatemala and Belize to El Salvador and from Panama to South America and the West Indies . It grows in damp or dry thickets, often on rocky slopes or in hedges and rubble or as weeds on cultivated areas at altitudes below 1800 m.
