Ireneo A. Amantillo

Ireneo Alisla Amantillo CSsR (born December 10, 1934 in Alimodian ; † October 11, 2018 in Cebu City ) was a Filipino religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Tandag .

Life

Ireneo Alisla Amantillo joined the Congregation of the Redemptorists in and received on 16 December 1962 in Cebu, the ordination .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on January 2, 1976 auxiliary bishop in Cagayan de Oro and titular bishop of Girus . The Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines , Archbishop Bruno Torpigliani , donated him episcopal ordination on March 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Patrick H. Cronin SSCME , Archbishop of Cagayan de Oro, and Artemio G. Casas , Archbishop of Jaro .

On September 6, 1978, he was appointed Bishop of Tandag by Pope John Paul I and was introduced to the office on November 7 of the same year. On October 18, 2001, John Paul II accepted his early resignation.
