The Diocese of Tandag ( Latin : Dioecesis Tandagensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in Mindanao , Surigao del Sur Province , Philippines . The bishopric is in Tandag City .
The diocese was founded on June 16, 1978 by Pope Paul VI. from the diocese of Surigao and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro (Philippines) as a suffragan . On November 7, 1978, John Paul I appointed the religious Ireneo A. Amantillo CSsR to the episcopate.
