Pahnstangen is a district of the municipality of Neundorf in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

Pahnstangen can be reached via the state roads 2360 and 1103. The district of the village lies on a flat and undulating plateau of the southeast Thuringian slate mountains . The soils have a high proportion of fine earth and a high humus content and are productive under the climatic conditions. To the east, the area is bounded by the federal motorway 9 from Munich to Berlin . To the west there are two heights with forest.

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1071. The original Slavic name is Pohanistanje ( Heidenstrich ). In the church books from 1600 to 1620 the place is then written Bahnstany . The church was given its present form in 1693 and 1781 through renovations. The agricultural village has 140 inhabitants.
