Iris Eckschläger (born April 21, 1974 in Salzburg ) is a former Austrian biathlete .

Iris Eckschläger, employee from Faistenau , started for the USC Faistenau . In 1996 she competed in the biathlon world cup in Hochfilzen for the first time . In her first individual she ran to 80th place. In 1998 she achieved the best World Cup result of almost 20 races in the same place as 27th of an individual. In addition, she competed in the Biathlon European Cup with far more success . In 1995/96 Eckschlager achieved third place in the overall standings behind Irina Djatschkowa and Ilka Schneider , and in 1996/97 behind Irina Mileschina and Tatiana Markowa . In 1997/98 she was fourth, in 1998/99 sixth. In addition, she won an individual in Ridnaun . In 2000 she started in Zakopane at the European Championships. In the singles Eckschläger ran to 18th place, in the sprint she was 29th and 28th in the pursuit race. A year later, the Austrian took part in the European Championships in Haute-Maurienne at the end of her career . In the individual, she ran to 32nd place, 14th in the sprint and 18th in the pursuit. In addition to Brigitte Weisleitner , Eckschlager was the most successful Austrian biathlete in the 1990s.
