The Irnhartingerbach , also known as Breitenauer- or Luckingerbach, is a river in Upper Austria with a length of almost 9 km. It rises near Pennewang in Hausruck and flows into the Grünbach near Gunskirchen . Its catchment area is around 20 km².

Landscape and course

The Irnhartingerbach rises between the hamlets of Nölling and Balding in the municipality of Pennewang at an altitude of 436 meters. In the upper reaches, the runoff is fed by several small spring streams. It flows through numerous hamlets and villages, flows through wide fields and open forest areas. Black alder , ash and poplar mostly form the wood that accompanies the banks. The Filserbach flows into the municipal boundary between Pennewang and Gunskirchen. In Lucken the brook is used for fish farming . The brook branches off in front of the town of Irnharting and a canal is used to irrigate the castle moat of Irnharting Castle . The Laimbach flows north of Irnharting before it flows into the Grünbach near the village of Baumgarting under the Grünbachtal Bezirksstraße .
