Isabelle Daniels

Isabelle Daniels ( Isabelle Francis Daniels, married Holston ; born July 31, 1937 in Jakin, Georgia - † September 8, 2017 in Decatur , Georgia) was an American sprinter .

At the Pan American Games in Mexico City in 1955 , she won silver in the 60-meter run and gold with the US team in the 4-by-100-meter relay .

In 1956 she missed the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Melbourne as fourth over 100 m with 11.8 s by 0.1 s. In the 4 x 100 meter relay, she won bronze with the US quartet.

At the Pan American Games in Chicago in 1959 , she won gold over 60 m as well as in the 4-by-100-meter relay and silver over 200 m .

Outdoors she was three times US champion over 50 yards , 50 m and 60 m (1955, 1956, 1959) and twice over 220 yards and 200 m (1957, 1959), indoors four times over 50 yards or 60 m (1955-1958) and once over 220 yards (1958).

Isabelle Daniels graduated from Tennessee State University and later became a physical education teacher and coach at Ronald E. McNair High School in Atlanta .
