Isabelle Weidemann (born July 18, 1995 in Ottawa ) is a Canadian speed skater .

Career

Weidemann was Canadian junior champion in four-way combat in 2013 and 2014. In January 2015, she started in Hamar for the first time in the speed skating World Cup and finished 26th in group B over 1500 m and 18th place over 3000 m. At the individual distance world championships in 2016 in Kolomna she achieved tenth place over 3000 m and fifth place over 5000 m and at the individual distance world championships 2017 in Gangwon 18th place over 1500 m, ninth place over 3000 m and sixth place over 5000 m. In the 2017/18 season she achieved her first podium finishes in the World Cup with third places in the team pursuit in Heerenveen and Calgary . At the season highlight, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she was seventh in the 3000 m, sixth in the 5000 m and fourth in the team pursuit. At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, she won her first World Cup victory in Tomakomai over 3000 m. She also took second place in the team pursuit there. This was followed by third place in the team pursuit and second place over 5000 m in Tomaszów Mazowiecki and second place over 3000 m in Heerenveen. She reached fourth place in the overall World Cup over 3000/5000 m. At the individual distance world championships in 2019 in Inzell , she was seventh over 3000 m and fourth over 5000 m and in the team pursuit. At the beginning of March 2019, she finished sixth at the 2019 All Around World Championship in Calgary.

At Canadian championships, Weidemann won four times over 5000 m and twice over 3000 m.
