Isak (Isaac) Hermann Albrecht Schumacher (born July 27, 1780 in Bremen ; † August 3, 1853 in Bremen) was a lawyer , Bremen senator and Bremen mayor .

biography

Schumacher was the son of the Oldenburg court advisor Albert Schumacher and the archivist's daughter Adelheid Schumacher, born. from post. He grew up on the Landruhe estate in Horn . Schumacher was married to the senator's daughter Margaretha Oelrichs for the first time. The marriage had five children, including Senator Hermann Albert Schumacher (1808-1887). In his second marriage he was married to the doctor's daughter Auguste Schumacher, b. Heineken, they both had two children.

Schumacher graduated from the old grammar school in Bremen from 1797 . After graduating from high school, he studied law at the University of Göttingen from 1798 . Schumacher was named Dr. jur. doctorate and since the same year has been procurator (administration of justice in the state administration) and notary . He then became a public prosecutor in Bremen.

In 1816 he became a senator in Bremen . From 1822 onwards, after Senator Nonnen, he headed the road construction deputation founded in 1817 . From January 30, 1847 until his death on August 3, 1853, he was the successor to Simon Hermann Nonnen mayor of Bremen .

Schumacher was buried in the Riensberg cemetery in the grave location R 249-252. The Schumacherweg in Bremen- Borgfeld was named after him. His grandson was the architect and chief building director of Hamburg Fritz Schumacher (1869–1947) and his nephew was the Senator Georg Schumacher (1803–1877).
