Islandstorget is an above-ground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Södra Ängby district . The station is served by the Gröna linjen of the Stockholm subway system . It is one of the less frequented stations on the underground network. 3,000 commuters get on here on a normal working day.

The station went into operation on October 26, 1952 when the Hötorget - Vällingby metro section was inaugurated. The platforms are above ground in an elevated position. The station is located between the Ängbyplan and Blackeberg stations . Shortly after the exit, the underground runs through the approx. 600 m long Blackeberg tunnel, which was the only tunnel in the tunnel bana outside the city center when it opened. It is around nine kilometers to Stockholm Central Station .
