Ismail Ahmed Ismail

Ismail Ahmed Ismail ( Arabic إسماعيل أحمد إسماعيل, DMG Ismāʿīl Aḥmad Ismāʿīl ; * September 10, 1984 in Khartoum ) is a Sudanese middle-distance runner who mainly starts on the 800-meter course .

At the World Athletics Championships in 2003 in Paris / Saint-Denis, he was eliminated in the preliminary run. The following year he won bronze at the African Championships and finished eighth at the Olympic Games in Athens .

In 2006 he was runner-up in Africa. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he won the silver medal in 1: 44.70 minutes behind Wilfred Bungei and ahead of Alfred Kirwa Yego (both from Kenya).

Ismail Ahmed Ismail is 1.91 m tall and weighs 71 kg. He belongs to the Fur people .
